Awardees
In Y2004, the RSSG began recognizing some of its youngest and brightest members who have made significant contributions to the field of remote sensing with its "Early Career Award". The Award consists of a check for $250 and publication of the winning manuscript in the journal "Photogrammetric Engineering and Remote Sensing." Below is a list of past recipients of the award.
2004 Winner - Dr. Bing Xu, Texas State University: "Snail density prediction for Schistosomiasis
control using IKONOS and ASTER images."
2004 Runner-Up - Dr. Soe Myint, University of Oklahoma: "Examining lacunarity approaches in
comparison with fractal and spatial autocorrelation techniques for urban mapping."
