2018 Officer Nominations
Dear AAG Remote Sensing Specialty Group (RSSG) members:
This email is to call for nominations or self-nominations for officer positions of the American Association of Geographers (AAG) Remote Sensing Specialty Group (RSSG). The RSSG is among the largest specialty groups of the American Association of Geographers. The mission of the RSSG is "to foster an understanding of remote sensing science. Emphasis is placed on developing a meaningful dialogue among geographers interested in understanding and applying remote sensing technology in research, instruction, public service, and private enterprise." We sincerely hope our members can consider to engage with and serve this valuable Remote Sensing community. The following three officer positions are open for nominations/self-nominations:
Faculty Co-Director (1): this post is elected for a two-year term, 2018-2020. Duties for this position include supervising one student director with the organization of the student paper/poster award competition, annual meeting organization, participation of regular RSSG board meetings, and other business.
Student Co-Directors (2): these posts are elected for a two-year term, 2018-2020. Duties for this position include organization of the student paper/poster award competition, annual meeting organization, and participation of regular RSSG board meetings.
In the nomination (or self-nomination), please include a brief biosketch of the nominee (see attached template).
Please submit nominations to RSSG Chair Changshan Wu at cswu@uwm.edu and Vice Chair Christopher D. Lippitt at clippitt@unm.edu. Nominations will be accepted until Friday 12:00 pm Eastern time, March 2nd, 2018. The election will take place online from March 3rd until 6:00 pm Eastern time on Sunday, April 11, 2018. Election results will be announced at the RSSG Business Meeting at the 2018 AAG Annual Meeting on Friday, April 13, 11:50am-1pm.
